Take a Breath
The video on breathing techniques below did not fit into my way of thinking until a client asked me to investigate breathing techniques. I did and thought “Wow! I’ve now had great feedback from those who have used these techniques.”
This is because when we become anxious it means we are in the survival mode. Oxygen will then pump to our muscles so we can run faster to escape. Breathing exercises lower your oxygen and pulse rates to normal levels and signals to the brain the threat is gone, and everything is okay. It’s a way to relieve stress and feelings of unease. The 5-minute video that demonstrates two breathing exercises to calm and relax you. I’ve also copied below a diagram of the Vagal nerve which spreads to all your major organs. By stimulating the Vagal Nerve with the technique demonstrated in the video you will decrease your heart rate and body’s stress response. I hope you find it useful.
